Box-office report: PK inches close to the 300 crore mark

The film is on its way to become the highest grosser of all time...

As PK continues its record-breaking streak at the box office, Aamir Khan has yet again proved that when it comes to creating mayhem at the ticket window he is indeed the most valued player in the industry. Be it starting the Rs.100 crore club (Ghajni), setting the benchmark of the 200 crore mark (3 Idiots) or achieving the rare feat of the historic 300 crore (Dhoom 3), he rules the number game and how!

His latest release PK, has set yet another benchmark by becoming the highest grossing film in the history of Bollywood by making a net total of Rs. 277.97 crore in the domestic domain beating all-time top grossers like Kick (Rs. 212 crore), Chennai Express (Rs. 208 crore), Happy New Year (Rs. 203 crore) 3 Idiots (Rs. 201 crore)


And it’s not long that PK will set another milestone. For now, Aamir’s 2013 magnum opus Dhoom 3 holds the spot of being the highest grossing film worldwide (Rs. 542 crore) but from the looks of it, PK is most likely to break that record soon as its overseas collection has added up to Rs. 130.50 crore in 14 days from its release.


In the week gone by, PK faced protests from hardcore Hindu activists who burnt down posters of the film and also demanded a ban on it. However, nothing seems to have hindered PK’s glorious run at the box-office and the numbers speak for themselves.
