To kiss intimately, you have to be good friends: Karan Singh Grover

Karan Singh Grover. He talks to India-Forums about his debut in 'Alone', his sensational co-star Bipasha Basu and much more.
Alone is going to hit theatres soon, are you nervous or excited?
I am feeling happy, nervous, excited - all of it! When you are working on small screen, if the TRPs are dropped in the first few episodes you can always work on it in coming episodes, but where films are concerned you get audience attention for just 3 hours which are very crucial! It's nerve wracking.
What are your expectations from Alone?
In my life, I prefer not to keep any expectations from anyone. I just hope that whatever happens, should be beneficial to everyone. It's foolish to expect something even before the output.
Why did you choose a horror movie for your debut?
Before accepting any work I never think about its genre, that's secondary. The script, story, whether I liked it, are more important factors for me to accept any project. I don't even look into the length of my role, for that matter.
Was Bipasha the main reason you signed 'Alone'?
Main reason I signed 'Alone' was the script and then I wanted to do a film with director Bhushan (Patel) and last but not the least, Bipasha.
According to you, what is more important to enter Bollywood - looks or talent?
According to me, to hold audience attention is more challenging than having looks or talent. If you can't do it, then both - looks and talent are useless.
Lots been said about the special friendship between you and Bipasha. Comment
We can't control what others are thinking. Everyone has the right to think and talk whatever they feel. This is not the first time that I have been linked with my co-star so this is not new for me. As an actor I am not affected by such talks.
Have Bipasha and you become good friends during the making of Alone?

Of course! If you have to kiss someone intimately, you have to become good friend
How was the experience working with Bipasha?
When I first learned that I will be working opposite Bipasha, I was on cloud nine! But then I realized that I have to match up to her level of work. I have to be at par with her, that was my main aim. That used to make me nervous, especially during our intimate scenes.
How has she helped you while filming the intimate scene?
Bipasha knew that I was quite nervous while shooting them. I had never done any kissing scene till then and it was a first for me. As a person she made me comfortable.
You have been named as smalls screen's Salman Khan', how do you feel about it?
To get compared to such great actor is a big honor. I feel happy about it.
What have you learnt from small screen?
Patience! I learnt how to keep your enthusiasm alive from TV. I learnt that if you are not passionate about your work then you will never reach ahead in life.
What is your New Year resolution?
Not to get into any relationship!!
