Master of disguises, Kamal Haasan has written the story of this costume drama.

Uttama Villain is the last film of director Balachander, who passed away last month.

The film's music is composed by Ghibran and cinematography is handled by Shyam Dutt. Thirrupathi Brothers and Raaj Kamal Films International have produced the project.

The film also features Jayaram, Andrea Jeremiah, Pooja Kumar, Urvashi, K. Vishwanath and Kamal's mentor, the late K. Balachander in important roles.
