Aditya Roy Kapur and Parineeti Chopra are all set to entertain us with their upcoming YRF film Daawat-e-Ishq. The film promises to be a romantic comedy with a backdrop of food. Directed by Habib Faisal and produced by Aditya Chopra the film has high expectations from it as it releases alongside Priyanka Chopra’s Mary Kom. Let us find out as to whether the music lives up to the hype or is it just plain gas in the song by song music review.
Daawat-e-ishq: Sung by  Javed Ali and Sunudhi Chauhan, the title track is a true blue qawwali with a blend of a wedding song. Javed Ali’s voice is perfect for such Indianised tracks and Sunidhi compliments him very well. The lyrics to justify the theme of the movie and are apt. The lyrics and the composition make this song feel like a conversation between a guy and a gal. The song has the potential to catch your attention and be stuck to your playlist for a long time to come.
Mannat: Sung by Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal and Keerthi Sagathia, this song has two versions. Both the versions have their own separate appeal. Sajid Wajid need to be complimented for such a fantastic composition as the music arrangement is perfect. To top it all, Sonu Nigam’s voice is so fantastic that you are compelled to stick on to the end. The song has a Arabic feel. The song expresses the strong desire of a lover for his beloved. The lyrics and the music impeccably convey the message.
Rangreli: Sung by Wajid and Shreya Ghoshal, the song starts with the dhol beat and then the brass band flavour slowly takes on the centre stage. The song slowly turns into a desi wedding number. The lyrics are fantastic and once again describe the conversation between two individuals superbly. However, in the male vocals department someone with a more versatile voice could have made this song far better, say Sonu Nigam or Shaan or even Javed Ali or Arijit Singh.
Shayarana: Sung by Shalmali Kholgade this song is easy going and hummable which has loads of western touch to it. The vocals are superb and will stick to your playlist for long. The soft tune touches your senses and the lyrics play with your mind.
Jaadu Tone Waliyaan: Sung by Shabab Sabri this is a very loud song, but surprising it doesn’t irritate you. The song has the typical feel of a Rahat Ali Khan feel to it, and wethinks it would have been better had it been sung by him.
